The Inset Slices of St Kilda Road Plane Tree have been individually shaped, then wrapped in Black epoxy resin resulting in a solid, hardy Board ready for years of Kitchen and entertainment action !
Timber Details:
Body Timber - Blackwood : Although called ‘blackwood,’ the wood is not really black, rather it’s heartwood is a rich golden brown. Blackwood is a medium-sized Australian hardwood that grows in the wetter areas of the Eastern states. This is sometimes complimented by reddish streaks or a narrow band of darker colour, indicative of the growth rings. The sapwood is much paler in appearance.
Inset Timber - London Plane Tree : Grows to approximately 20–30 m, it is similar to Mapel, the wood being White to Light Pinkish Tan with a Darker Reddish Heartwood. The London plane is very tolerant of atmospheric pollution and is a commonly planted along major City Boulevards and Parklands. David collected Fallen Branches of Plane tree from along St Kilda Road.

Finish: Every Bonnie Timber Board is repeatably fine sanded in between coats of a high quality, food safe, hard wax oil, then finally hand sanded with extremely fine sandpaper and hand buffed with our wood butter, a small can of which is included with the Board you purchase.
