Handcrafted Cutting Board Two Iconic Australian Timbers
One of my End Grain / Edge Grain Combination Cutting Boards that highlights the graining and colouring of two iconic Australian Timbers, Blackbutt and Sassafras, certainly different and a conversation starter in any Kitchen.
Timber Details:
Edge Grain Timber - Sassafras – Golden: An evergreen tree native to the temperate rainforests of South West Tasmania. First described by French naturalist Jacques Labillardière in 1806. Golden sassafras is a beautiful pale creamy grey to white timber, finishing to a grey and golden tone.
End Grain Cut Timber - Laminated Black Butt: - a tough, hardy timber named after the tree's appearance after bushfire, whereby the butt - was significantly darkened. The heartwood ranges from golden yellow to pale brown and occasionally a slightly pinkish. The wood is hard and strong and is the major timber used for all kinds of building construction work, including rafters and battens, flooring, bridge planks and railway sleepers. In addition, the leaves are eaten by koalas.

Finish: Every Bonnie Timber Board is repeatably fine sanded in between coats of a high quality, food safe, hard wax oil, then finally hand sanded with extremely fine sandpaper and hand buffed with our wood butter, a small can of which is included with the Board you purchase.
