Bonnie Timber Boards began during a long lazy lunch, when I [an Old School trained Carpenter and Joiner] saw my food presented on a bland, mass-produced piece of mystery wood and decided on the spot that good food deserved so much better.

Soon I was handcrafting eye catching Bonnie Timber Boards that are functional pieces of wood art from characterful Australian timbers, carefully selected for their contrasting natural graining and colouring.

I'm David, I'm the craftsman who creates each Bonnie Timber Board.

I started out a few years ago as an apprentice carpenter and joiner, before my career took him in other directions within the National and International Building industry.

Today, I'm back in the workshop crafting Bonnie Timber Boards from beautiful timbers I have great fun collecting from all over the Australia into uniquely characterful pieces of functional wood art.

Timbers like Huon Pine, Blackwood, Myrtle, Sassafras, Tasmanian Oak, Rose Gum, Iron Bark, Birds Eye String Bark, White Mahogany, Brushbox are favourites of mine for their natural variation in graining and colours.

Our customers and their smiles when they have found that special board for them drives my passion for my craft.
