Hi, I'm David, the nutty Craftsman at BonnieTimber Boards
I am so fortunate to spend most days in the Studio creating Functional Wood Art, Timber Boards.
Most Boards take many hours to complete, having hundreds of pieces of end grain cut wood [some have thousands] depending on where my design whimsy takes me.
I am constantly amazed by the endless array of natural wood colours and graining, particularly when cut on the end grain. So I have evolved a process to create small wood dowels from all the different woods I collect and then somewhat like a painters palette I can select and mix the colours in anyway I want.
Most mornings, I walk into the Studio with no fixed design agenda. I usually start working on Boards that already in progress and then, often as not, a new design inspiration strikes and later that day a new Board is underway.
Many Customers have said to me that my Boards are "Too Nice to Use”, which I humbly accept as a generous compliment and as support for my passion to create Functional Wood Art.
I delight in creating uniquely different Boards, it's constantly challenging and frankly can be bloody hard work, but it's a joy to see the smile on Customers face when they touch and run their fingers over a Board that has caught their eye.
Thank you so much for your interest in Bonnie Timber Boards, please email me if you have any questions.
