The inspiration for this Board, that I call “Cottage Flowers” came after admiring several flowers in our rear Cottage Garden.
Proudly Designed and Handcrafted in our small Bonbeach workshop.
Size: Length 39 cm - Width 28.5 cm x Thickness 3.2 cm
Weight: 2.9 Kilo's
Base Timber: American White Oak.
Insert Timbers: Hundreds of end grain cut pieces of Huon Pine, White Pine as the flower heads and Redgum and Rose Gum as the flower stems.
Structure: All the separate wood pieces have been enveloped in a quality clear epoxy resin [which is generally considered Food Safe when cured] resulting in a very solid Board ready for years of service
Number of Separate Wood Pieces: Approximately: 172 separate pieces of wood
Time to complete: Approximately 3.9 Hours
The Board has been surfaced and fine sanded, then finished with two coats of Fiddes Hard Wax Oil, which is a Food Safe Finish, when cured.
Finally, the Board is polished with our Wood Butter [made from our combination of natural Bees Wax, Orange Oil and High Quality Mineral oil]
